The January Above the Line theme at Grand Avenue was “Perseverance.” The students below received awards on Monday, January 26th from their classroom teacher or staff member who felt that they are an individual that perseveres through adversities. Congratulations to these students!

No matter the age, students love listening to a good book. Mrs. Miller is sharing the Golden Archer Award nominees with students during their library time, so they can cast their votes for their ✨ favorite! ✨ 📚

At Grand we are sharing what brings us joy! Staff has shared their pictures while students wrote theirs down. We have family, students, classmates, sunsets, and the ever so famous 6-7!

Grand Avenue Families never cease to amaze us! This year we were able to Stuff the Turkey with loads of paper products. The food pantry staff loaded up the van on Tuesday to take to the pantry for families in need during this time. Grand Avenue families we are thankful for you and your support!

Birthdays will be a bit brighter thanks to these Grand Ave students!

Fifth graders in Mrs. Nolden's class collected frosting, cake mix, and other items for a birthday celebration. Students then decorated and filled 22 bags to donate to the Sauk Prairie Area Food Pantry.

Opera for the Young visited Grand Avenue this morning for a lively performance of The Elixir of Love! The group brings live, professional opera performances to schools across the Midwest — and today, our students got a front-row seat to the fun!

Grand Avenue’s 5th Grade Chorus joined in on the performance, adding their voices to the production. 🎵

A special treat for us this year, Sauk Prairie (and Grand Ave) alum Austin Bare was one of the professional opera singers in the cast- starring as the poor, lovesick cowboy, Jimmy Reno.

From their first to their last, our 5th graders checked off another Grand Avenue Tradition last week. We celebrated our 48th Prediction Run. 🏃🏻 🏃‍♀️ We had a 5th grader predict his time for the 3rd year in a row! Other students celebrated their first win while others guessed their exact time. All of our students worked hard and completed another tradition that makes us Grand Avenue 🦅

The Great Grand Avenue Cross Country Halloween Prediction Run is still going strong since its inception 47 years ago.

This is not a race but an excellent opportunity for all students to work toward an individual goal and take pride in their accomplishment, while at the same time building community!

Our all school art project had students learning about the work of Dale Chihuly an American artist who works with glass to create sculptures. The piece the students created was inspired by his work.

2 more days to reach our goal of bowling at The Riv! Thank you so much to everyone who has supported and donated to the Grand Gallop!

We did it! This morning we ran the Grand Gallop and had a blast! There were waves of white, black, and red as our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders hit the turf to get their laps! Thank you to everyone who supports near and far as we kick off our school year with this event. We appreciate you all! 🦅

$10,000+ has been earned by our Grand Avenue students and families! That means we reached a step in our prizes! Looks like these kiddos will be enjoying some custard on Friday after they run! Come out and see all the fun the Grand Gallop has to offer on Sept 26!
