Birthdays will be a bit brighter thanks to these Grand Ave students!

Fifth graders in Mrs. Nolden's class collected frosting, cake mix, and other items for a birthday celebration. Students then decorated and filled 22 bags to donate to the Sauk Prairie Area Food Pantry.

Family Movie Day for Bridges and Grand Ave students and families
Opera for the Young visited Grand Avenue this morning for a lively performance of The Elixir of Love! The group brings live, professional opera performances to schools across the Midwest — and today, our students got a front-row seat to the fun!

Grand Avenue’s 5th Grade Chorus joined in on the performance, adding their voices to the production. 🎵

A special treat for us this year, Sauk Prairie (and Grand Ave) alum Austin Bare was one of the professional opera singers in the cast- starring as the poor, lovesick cowboy, Jimmy Reno.

Austin is pictured with his 4th Grade teacher, Tammy Markley.

From their first to their last, our 5th graders checked off another Grand Avenue Tradition last week. We celebrated our 48th Prediction Run. 🏃🏻 🏃‍♀️ We had a 5th grader predict his time for the 3rd year in a row! Other students celebrated their first win while others guessed their exact time. All of our students worked hard and completed another tradition that makes us Grand Avenue 🦅

The Great Grand Avenue Cross Country Halloween Prediction Run is still going strong since its inception 47 years ago.

This is not a race but an excellent opportunity for all students to work toward an individual goal and take pride in their accomplishment, while at the same time building community!

Our all school art project had students learning about the work of Dale Chihuly an American artist who works with glass to create sculptures. The piece the students created was inspired by his work.

We did it! This morning we ran the Grand Gallop and had a blast! There were waves of white, black, and red as our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders hit the turf to get their laps! Thank you to everyone who supports near and far as we kick off our school year with this event. We appreciate you all! 🦅

We are thrilled to welcome new staff members to our school!

Meet Molly Froelich, Art Teacher at Grand Ave and Bridges!

Molly's hometown is Baraboo. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Art Education from the University of Wisconsin Madison. She was inspired to become an educator by her elementary art teacher Ms. Hansen.

One of her greatest joys is visiting with her grandmas. (The attached photo is Molly and her Grandma Bea.)

A notable read for Molly is Love That Dog by Sharon Creech.

A big Sauk Prairie welcome to Molly!

Welcome New Staff
The first day can feel overwhelming, but a friendly smile and shared laughter make all the difference. Team challenges help turn nerves into connection, and suddenly, you're not alone — you're part of something. With every laugh and new moment, you're reminded that this is just the beginning, and great memories are waiting to be made. 🦅

Meet Karlie Volk, School Psychologist for Grand Avenue and Tower Rock!

Karlie, originally from Three Lakes, has a Bachelors in Rehabilitation Psychology from the University of Wisconsin Madison and a Masters in School Psychology and an Education Specialist in School Psychology from the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire.

Karlie is excited to join the Sauk Prairie School District and the community! She is recently engaged and along with her fiance is in the process of planning a wedding. In her free time, she loves the outdoors -- especially being on the lake. She enjoys going for walks with her dogs and hanging out with friends and family.

Karlie's parents are lifelong educators and her greatest inspiration. She hopes to follow in their footsteps and make a difference in lives of students and families.

A big Sauk Prairie welcome to Karlie!

There was more than a "fair" amount of knowledge on display at the Grand Ave 5th Grade Science Fair. Student scientists conducted research and then presented their results at the science fair. These photos are only a sample of the variety of topics covered. We are impressed! Great work 5th graders! #spsdlearns #togetherwesoar #grandaveschool #sciencefair

Congratulations to all of our young writers who participated in the Young Author's Conference. Sauk Prairie was represented by 18 students from grades 3-5. These young authors from Grand Ave, Merrimac and Tower Rock had their writing selected as winning entries. Because of their winning pieces, the students earned participation in the Central Wisconsin Talented and Gifted (CWTAG) Young Author's Conference where they heard from a published author and attended writing workshops. Their work is published in an anthology of winning entries. The Young Author's Conference, held earlier this year in Westfield, featured writing from students across Central Wisconsin in the areas of poetry, narrative writing, and creative writing.
