Grand Avenue Clubs & Activities

Chorus and Band are offered to all 5th grade students. If they wish to be a part of Chorus, it is during their recess time from 10:10-10:25 twice a week for each 5th grade classroom. Mr. Glenn Schuster is the contact person and can be reached at 608/643-1900.

The 5th Grade Band program is ran through the Community Center with lessons before school from 7:35-8:05 at Grand Avenue School. Mr. Jeff Williams is the contact person and can be reached at 608/643-5500.

Safety Patrol is for 5th grade students. These students must apply and be approved by the Safety Patrol coordinator and staff members from Grand Ave. to be a part of Safety Patrol throughout the school year. These students either do a shift before school as students are entering the building or at the end of the day as students are leaving school. Safety Patrollers are responsible students that help the staff with the crossing of students at the crosswalks, assisting with asking students to walk and behave as they are coming and leaving each day. At the end of the school year these students have the privilege of having a field trip to a water park in Wisconsin Dells. Mr. Andy Sherman is the contact person and can be reached at 608/643-1900.

Student Council from Grand Avenue are 5th grade students that are chosen by their teachers. Each 5th grade teacher chooses 2 students per quarter to participate in Student Council. These students help with running different activities during the school year, make announcements regarding the activities along with other school events happening throughout the school year.
